New STEM Program for 4-Year-Olds

Stepaway Nursery School is excited to offer a brand new STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for 4-year-olds, which has quickly become a favorite among students and parents alike. This innovative program, now in its second year, has a waiting list due to its popularity. The STEM curriculum is developmentally appropriate, fostering creativity, imagination, and critical thinking skills in young learners. Through hands-on activities and exploratory learning, children are introduced to science and engineering concepts in a fun and engaging way.

STEM Enrichment Days

Our T/TH enrichment days provide an additional learning opportunity for 4-year-olds, focusing on hands-on exploration in STEM subjects. This classroom offers a first-come, first-serve option for children to dive deeper into science, technology, engineering, and math through engaging and imaginative activities. Aligning with Connecticut Early Learning Standards, the program fosters curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional growth. These enrichment days allow children to discover their unique gifts and talents in an innovative environment.

Nature and STEM Combined

At Stepaway, we believe in bringing the wonders of nature into every classroom, not just STEM. Our children engage in a variety of hands-on nature-based activities, such as tapping maple trees to make syrup, observing the life cycle of monarch butterflies, and even shearing a sheep right in the classroom. These experiences, combined with our STEM program, offer children a holistic approach to learning, encouraging both scientific exploration and an appreciation for the natural world.
